Recently, the Protea Hotel Light Storage Microgrid project in Zambia has been officially put into use. The project is located near Ndola Airport and effectively solves the problem of unstable power supply caused by weak local power grids through a multi energy complementary model of "photovoltaic+energy storage+municipal power+diesel engine", setting a new benchmark for the green transformation of the African hotel industry.

The lagging power grid infrastructure in the Ndola area has long constrained the normal operation of Protea Hotel. The hotel manager stated that in the past, there was only 2 to 4 hours of daily electricity supply, mainly relying on 300KW diesel generators to maintain operation.
